Bournemouth and it's aftermath!

Hi Everyone!  I am back!  Thought I will share my experience about a rather unpleasant 2 day stay at the Best Western Hotel at Bournemouth near London. A lovely, peaceful, lil English town by the seaside. The locals are extremely friendly and the pubs warm and typically English! Alas! My 2 day sleepless stay at the Best Western Hotel worsened my minor common cold into an unpleasant respiratory nightmare as i caught my flight back to India! I raised a complaint about the issues i faced during my stay at the hotel and the management replied in an effort to address my concerns. I am reproducing the email copies which may be of some interest to those who travel or propose to travel abroad.

"Dear Mr Plumely, I am now back in India. My local phone no is +91------------. After checking out of your hotel my throat infection developed into a severe viral infection and believe me being deprived of 2 days of decent sleep did not help my health. Now back in India i am under bed rest. Hopefully i will recover fully in a few days time. I wish you people in the hospitality business in the UK took more care of your guests and on par with the brits and not show a callous and off hand kind of attitude towards Indians and Asians. We also pay you in the the same currency and we do expect good value for money if not more. My throat is now infected so pl do call in a couple of days else i will be pleased to call you if you provide me with ur contact no.

Dear Haricharan
Many thanks for your prompt response to my message and I hope it is ok call you by your forename.
I am sorry to hear that you are not well and you have my sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I can reassure you that we at the Connaught are committed to your satisfaction and care and I am sorry I did not have the opportunity to speak with you personally when you were staying with us.
I have had the chance to look into your reservation and I do note that you did pay an overbooking rate which does happen occasionally and the rate is driven automatically with very limited availability.
I know you have kindly agreed to speak with me personally however I do not wish to prolong this matter and have you feeling any further angst towards this issue.
I would like to extend the offer of a complimentary nights stay with us when you are able to return to the UK with my compliments subject to availability and excluding bank holidays.  This offer is unconditional and I would ask that you please accept this in the manner in which it has been made with all due respect to yourself. Please refer to this message when making your reservation and I will ensure that this is dealt with personally.
Again I wish you good health and look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Paul.

Service with a GReaT SMILE:))

Service with a  SMILE:) - Passed thro Vellore with my wife and friend director Krishna. We had lunch at the GRT Sameera, Velore on the way from b'lore! Pleasantly surprised and very happy at the GReaT service with smiles all around by Ramu (Asst Restaurant Manager) and his team! A big kudos to them! If any of u do happen to visit GRT at Vellore in the near future pl do say a 'hello' to them on my behalf! On the downside the GRT management should look at scaling down the rates (though my friend dir Krishna picked up the tab) and/or upping the quality of food a notch up! P.S The chef should be careful with the 'Attai' in the ice-cream and hopefully avoid the 'Kottai' in the Kapi!
